I'm having a second thought on getting fresh flowers for me and for my entourage so I plan to DIY the entourage flowers and boutonnieres. Kasi imagine you're going to buy flowers, will use for a day and display it in your house for a week or so. Then after they dry and lose its beauty you have no other choice but to throw it away na. Sayang di ba?
So as I was researching if w@w has something about materials on how to DIY flowers... Lo and behold! I found Accents & Petals! They make flowers from recycled materials: paper, wood shavings, corn husk, burlaps, and other recycled buntings you can think of. Very neat, artsy & crafty right?
It's nice to see everyday the bouquet that you have used in your wedding. It will remind you the day and vows that you made with God as husband and wife. So I listed the pros & cons that I can think of to help me in decision making. The clock is ticking so I have to decide before June ends! You can leave a comment for your reactions or votes!
Pros:
- Recycled! You have done something good for mother earth in your wedding!
- it will not fade or deteriorate through time (given that you store it properly)
- you do not have to pay thousands of money so you can preserve your whole bridal bouquet. Heck, you might even let your future daughter/s or in-law/s to use that and can be a family heirloom :)
- you can pick up the goods in Matus Megamall for free
- you can have your flowers months before the wedding, and lessen the stress in wedding details
- hindi sayang ang datung dahil hindi nalalanta hahaha
- cheaper than the real ones
Cons:
- nothing really beats the beauty of real flowers!
- if you live outside of Metro Manila, you have to pay shipping fee for the delivery of goods
- you can only judge the flowers in pictures because communication is done through email, SMS, or calls. So as the manufacturing progress, you can only see the design & color through email pictures.
- additional supplier to communicate, so additional transactions and exchange of emails.
Here are some of the pictures that we took during our visit in Matus Megamall. So I have an idea what it feels like to hold an Accents & Petals bouquet. :)
